Vertigo Analysis
One scene that I have analysed were Scottie and Madeleine see one another for the first time. We see the scene through a male point of view. This supports one argument of Laura Mulvey's 'Male Gaze theory. "The cinematic gaze is always produced through a masculine both by means of the identification produced with the male hero and through the use of the camera." This point supports the camera use, but not exactly concerning a male hero. Can we consider Scottie to be a hero? He's the film's central male character anyway. This is not only because we see the film through his eyes, but we see it through a masculine perspective, e.g. he gazes at Madeleine.
