Peter Shock, Green lantern review

Green Lantern Film Review
This was an extremely anticipated live action film for comic book and sci-fi fans from all round the world, but there was a great divide between those who loved the film and those who did not. The profit of the film would probably favour those who did not like it as the film only made a profit of $19,000,000 this was a lot less then was excepted as there was a budget of $200,000,000.
Description: http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTMyMTg3OTM5Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzczMjEyNQ@@._V1_SY317_CR0,0,214,317_.jpgSome would argue that it was there was a number of faults to the film such as the director Martin Campbell who had also previously directed t casino royal so this was saw to be a bit of a transition going from a British MI6 agent to an Out of space galactic cop played by Ryan Reynolds. This was seen as the second big mistake of the film some saying Nathan Fillion would have suited the role better.
I disagree with these statement as many comic fans like me would, feeling the film really stayed true to one of the many story lines of Hal Jordan a very experienced test pilot who is chosen by an outer space authority as he struggles to come to terms with the responsibility and great power he is given there is a great enemy he must overcome not just physically but mentally and this is….. Fear.  Also against all the controversy over Ryan Reynolds I felt he really suited the role with his wittiness but yet his ability to become a really dark character who is trying to find himself in the ever so big universe.
Overall I believe this I a film you will either hate or love whether that’s because you dislike the acting or because you are taken in by the amazing CGI effects, so for that reason I think it’s a very good film to watch and that only then will you know if this film is one for you to watch over and over as I have and there are rumors of a Green Lantern 2 or even a reboot to tie in with the upcoming dc movies for the not to sure 2017 film The Justice League.

  1. You have included some good points here but you must try to view the film with an objective, analytical eye. Clearly you enjoy the film but you must also discuss some of the criticisms in more detail. Good first attempt but more criticism next time!
