The Japanese anime film Princess Mononoke was created by the animation studio ‘Studio Ghibli’ and had the production budget of $20,000,000. The film was first released in Japan on the 12th July 1997 and re-released worldwide in 1999. It was well received in its native Japan and became the highest-grossing film in the country till it was surpassed by Titanic in 1997. It didn't as well abroad as it grossed $2,374,107 in domestic box office but the film’s international box office added up to $147,975,893 and the worldwide box office came to $150,350,000

Synopsis 
While on a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest gods and Irontown, a mining colony, and Lady Eboshi, the settlement's leader. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime. After meeting San, who is fighting to protect the forest from Lady Eboshi, Ashitaka is forced to find a middle ground between the two forces in a epic final battle of men and gods.
