Peter Jackson 48fps In this quick interview with Peter Jackson he explains why using 48fps is better for the cinematic experience of films. Many fans and film fanatics around the world are against using 48fps and being the first to direct a film using the upgraded technology he has received allot of complaints. In the interview he defends the use of 48fps compared to the standard 24fps and tells the audience why he chose to use it. He starts by telling the media that he wants to enhance the cinematic experience rather than creating another film that will be watched mostly at home on IPads and laptops. He then goes on to argue that 24fps was created and used in the early 20th century and we should try and grow from that and make the experience more immersive, magical and spectacular. James Cameron Avatar This fantastic video from James Cameron shows us how the technology used to create Avatar works and why he chose to use the technology in the first place. He explains that to capture the mos realistic looking faces he had to use new and updated technology rather than use costumes, one of which is the head brace which can capture facial expressions no matter what the actor does. James Cameron also explains how motion capture works, this is new technology that the director used to film and create the Na'vi in the film. An interesting fact that the director brings up in the interview is that the whole film was filmed in a studio using this motion capture technology.
