Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs has a torture scene where a mans ear is hacked off with a straight razor, i think the most shocking thing in this film is that Mr. Blonde enjoys torturing the police man, and the fact that he is is singing heightens the tension and shocking nature as it doesn't phase Mr. Blonde as he is dancing and singing, we align with the police man more to make us feel empathy. The close up of the police man forces us to watch so we cannot look away. We don't see the ear being cut off, but we do see Mr. Blonde mocking the police officer, which makes us think he is revelling in the fear of the police man.
