True Lies (1994)
The film 'True Lies' has Islamic terrorists, who hate America, for no reason other than because they believe America are evil. The film was released in 1994, a year after Bin Laden bombed the World Trade Centre. Although the film was obviously in production, whether it was intentional or unintentional, the films release solidified many Americans' views on Islam as a whole, and hatred for terrorism. This particular clip shows them as genuinely careless in their approach, that they are a pile of jokes. With the video camera and the unprofessional approach, the encoders are almost mocking the terrorist group, and the categorised religion as a whole. Robert A Rosenstone doesn't believe that films are a true reflection of society. He said "films are inaccurate. They distort the past. They fictionalise, trivialise and romanticise important people, events, and movements. They falsify History."
