'Spider man' Directed by Sam Rami

These quotes both come from: http://www.salon.com/2011/05/10/10_year_time_capsule_spiderman_wtc/

This film was massively affected by the disaster of 9/11, having to change scenes within the film such as shown in the trailer above. After the disaster this trailer was already in cinemas. Quote from the "Salon" states: "four month's later, Sony was scrambling to yank the trailer out of every theater, along with the original Spider-man teaser poster". Director Sam Rami thought by having images of the twin towers so soon after the tragedy, that this would ruin the reputation of the film. But instead had an opposite effect and made citizens become more patriotic and this scene shown that the twin towers should be remembered and not forgotten, this was shown from one of the quotes from the same article."As it turned out, many audiences cheered when they saw the towers; it was a reminder that history couldn't be neatly wiped off the screen." This instead of badly impacting the films reputation it enhanced it instead. But director Sam Rami still wanted to bring in a different advert, by making another advert which didn't consist of the twin towers but heavily consisted a more patriotic theme to it, quote from the Salon shows this by saying, "The scene of Spider-Man hanging onto a flagpole with a large American flag, seen in later trailers and at the end of the film, was added in response to the attacks." this added a more patriotic theme to the movie in general and shown that the all citizens should stick together in dark times such as this. also dialogue was added in because of the events, for example "when you mess with one new Yorker, you mess with all new Yorkers!" this signified the union of Americans even against the darkest of times.
