Synopsis/plot:
In the romantic drama "Remember Me," Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family. Tyler didn't think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. Love was the last thing on his mind, but as her spirit unexpectedly heals and inspires him, he begins to fall for her. Through their love, he begins to find happiness and meaning in his life. It is a film made in New York in September 2001, the day of 9/11, however we don't find this out until the end of the film. "The story ends on Sept. 11, 2001, in New York, " At the beginning of the film,10 years earlier, a tragedy happens for one of the main characters. The twin towers are in the background which foreshadows to some people that the film is based in New York on the day of 9/11 and that there is potential danger to come. "10 years earlier, a subway mugging turns violent as the World Trade Centre's Twin Towers loom ominously in the distance."There are many ways to interpret the film, some see it as an awful twist of fate and others see it as a sense of loss as stated in the film title "Remember Me", "which, depending on your point of view, further underscores the sense of loss implicit in the movie's title or is an unnecessary dramatic ploy to end the film with a devastating twist of fate that immediately connects with every audience member."
