How do franchises offer a greater, more demanding experience?

Franchises offer a greater, more fascinating experience due to interaction. In todays society, I believe that as an audience member, we enjoy interacting and getting to know characters more than stars. I think that stars can only do so much until the audience gets bored. As an audience, we get so attached to certain plots and characters that we want to forever enjoy the experience and franchises let this happen. We get the characters that we have become to know, reveal their hopes, dreams, fears and troubles. Franchises let us join them on their adventures and let us share their experiences and thats why they offer a more demanding experience. As Johnson said 'Form as opposed to content' this means it is about what we see not who we see. Stars are becoming primitive
