This scene creates a shock which causes a sickening feeling - a 'Central' response.

This is created through the use of both content and form. The fact that he is even thinking of creating this is sickening to the core as is his lack of negative emotion, showing his complete disregard for human life. This along with the use of form - cutting back and forth from midshots of the doctor to close ups of the patients. the patients reaction are full of fear and disgust, mirroring how we feel inside and taps into our fear of if this ever happened to us. although my response is sympathetic, it draws a 'central' response from me and makes me never want to see the full film.
