Vertigo opening sequence

The opening sequence begins with an ECU of the side of Madeleine's face in black and white. The camera then pans to her lips for a moment whilst James Stewart's credit is shown over her. This implies that men are more important than woman as out view of her is obscured by his name. The audience is encouraged to gaze at Madeleine and view her as individual parts instead of a person.
