In Vertigo, Hitchcock intentionally visually repeats a series of actions taken by Scottie during his infatuation with Madeliene earlier on in the film. For examples, the locations in the first half with Madeliene are re-explored by Scottie later in the second half, as he searches for Madeliene despite her unfortunate suicide. The technical aspect of these shots are very similar if not identical to eachother, creating a link.
