Blade Runner
Analysis
The
opening scene of Blade Runner is a wide shot this gives use the first
introduction to this world. From the shot we can see that this world give off a
sense of violence and destruction that will play a key part throughout the film.
The movement of the camera is always constantly moving and this gives off the
feeling that the audience is being drawn into the city.
We
also see an extreme close up of an eye. This gives the sense of mystery to the
audience. It also tells use that they
have no identity and tells the audience that this character does not have a
soul. We known this because the eye is a window to the soul and by using this
shot of a single eye tell the audience meaning of the film is that these people
are looking for the own identity.
We
also see from the opening scene that the audience is being drawn to a specific
building. From this we can tell that this specific building will play a key
role in the film. It also gives us an insight into how the world has become the
way it is.it also gives the sense that the industries has the dominance over
the entire world and the people that live in it.
