Film Analysis of 'The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies'
Battle of the five armies is about the gang of dwarfs that set out to take back their home land and what the face on the way.
Battle of the five armies is the newest instalment of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy and in my opinion is the best of the three. The production cost of the film was $250m and it was all worth it. The visual aspect of the film is fantastic, it is visually stunning and really captures your attention in every scene. The Editing contributes to the visual beauty of the film, everything about the editing and special effects is very clean and smooth while the film is playing. The film fits perfectly in the fantasy and adventure genre due to the ever changing scenario and setting.
The story of the film is very capturing and sticks with the story from the book, almost identical. Every moment captures you and has you locked into the film at all times. The sound and editing also links into this by grabbing your attention due to the visual beauty and clearness of the sound.
This film has to be Jacksons best work so far in my opinion, taking away the fact I am a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies I do believe this is his best work, it tops the third instalment of Lord of the Rings and King Kong with ease. Though some may not agree it is a very good film due to their opinion on the story or genre they cant deny that it is a brilliant visual representation of the book by J.R.R Tolken.
The performances from all of the cast are brilliant, you really take the side of the protagonists and the opposite for the antagonists. This is also shown by the camera work in the film. You are really able to empathise with the protagonists and take a hating the antagonists. The film really tells you how to feel about the characters without saying anything at all.
Overall I would give this film a 9/10. I would give it a 9/10 because there were some key aspects that were in the book that weren't in the film, other than that the film was basically in my opinion a perfect film.
