La Haine: Media scene
The scene opens with a dissolve, informing the audience that there has been a passage of time. Thus highlighting the lack of opportunities for these characters. The car drives past but soon realises there are youths in the park and drives back in the hop of a good story. The media crew are visually higher than the trio, forcing them to look up at the middle class woman in the car. There is a high angle shot from the media looking down at the trio, enforcing the inferiority of the trio to them. The point of view from the media enables us to see what the french audience see and why this effects their ideologies. We see the consequence of how the 'non-French' are depicted in media as being corrupt, when a man explains in the art gallery that "they are from the projects". The man saying that may have watched Vinz shouting "What are you filming, son of a bitch?" at the reporter. Although the news reporter is aiming to find out if the trio wee involved in the riots, neither her or the man filming attempt to get out of the car, implying that the middle class French judge those living in the projects subconsciously. They are there to collect negative shots and actions.
