war of the worlds recreation

War of the worlds has been recreated many times from its original novel, by H.B.Worlds. the original novel was wrote in 1898 and since then has been brought back and recreated three times.


The original novel was set in Victorian London at the time that the British empire was most dominant colonial power on earth. This made London its political and economic centre. Around this time people feared a lot of things for example Paranoia, this meant people feared the end of the world and immigrants coming in and taking people jobs and money. H.B.Wells thought that it was the best time to write this novel because he thought he could use the fear and horror he felt and the fear he knew people around him felt to write the novel.

When the novel was published people had fear of cultural destruction and felt threatened by the influx of foreign nationals. People saw immigrants as a threat to British culture and cultural ideologies Wells used this fear to create the 'Aliens' as in the novel they attacked London and destroyed everything in their path.

Fourty years later the War of the worlds radio show was created. The first time this show was aired was a time people feared the rise of the Nazi party.
