Weather produces and audience use film stars anymore do you agree or disagree with this statement

As we have come into the modern age we have see that film stars have slowly go into decline, one of the main reasons for this is because franchises have taken over from them. We have seen many franchises become popular with audience such as Marvel, Star Wars and Batman. One of the reasons for this is because many of these franchises originate from other forms such as comic books, novels and TV shows. The audience are then more likely to go and see these types of films because they know the character and feel that they have a connection with them furthermore the role of the film star has started to be overlooked because the character are becoming a more important aspect of the film then the stars that play them.  Although that does not mean that film star are not used to make the audience see the film that they are in, for example Leonardo De Caprio film knocked Star Wars The Force Awakens off of the top of the box office. This tells us that the appeal of the film star can still attract audiences.

Although we have see a decline in film stars because of franchise, it does not mean that film starts cannot still be used to promote films. When produces cast star for leading roles they have to pick some one who fit that role of the character and someone that will grab the readers attention. A good example of this is Jennifer Lawrence when see went on a rant online over apple. Casting her as a strong main character will appeal to audience because it shows that she is a strong minded person and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

Franchises can also appeal to a wider audience, know well-known franchisees don’t have to stick to American and European audiences the can now be shown in the over seas market. The franchisees can now try a grab the attention of the over seas market by doing this they become aware of the franchise and it character. But in order to do this they need to make it appeal to them. A good example of this is the transformers franchise; by filming one of the films in china it will grab the audiences attention and appeal to them and their country.

It not only about film star or if the film is apart of a franchise, there are also other factors that will make the film appealing to an audience. For example if a star director that is well known for their films then that appeals to the audience because if they like the directors previous film then the audience are more likely to go and see that film.
