Get Carter representation of women - Anna
In the first scene with Anna we see her in a room full of men were one of the men has his hand on her leg, as a sign of ownership and Carter sees that it makes her uncomfortable, yet he makes no effort to make him stop. This shows the view that men held women in in 1960 onwards and that was that they were their to serve men and did not own themselves.
