Alien
The scene i studied for the majority of it there is nothing but darkness , where it has its strong bursts of light when they want us to concentrate of something for example at the very end where the alien is suddenly revealed by a very strong torch when shun on it after a sharp turn from dallas adding the element of surprise, but for this surprise to have been so effective there is a lot of darkness previously so whenever the seen presents even the slightest big of light you are expecting to something to jump out or be there in the darkness but this is not always the case this adding all the more to the suspense of no knowing what will happen next.
There are many flashing emergency lights throughout the scene showing us that something bad is happening and that they are in danger. The layout of the building and the design would suggest that before this disaster light would of flooded the building giving a very clinically futuristic atmosphere.
