During the home invasion scene, the audience are forced to view the attack through the eyes of the husband and are denied a female (wifes) point of view. This could then be argued that the real victim of the attack is not the wife but rather the husband as the droogs, especially Alex, are using a possession of his, his wife. This theory then reinforces the fact that women in the film are seen by Alex and therefore seen by the audience as disposable objects that have no real function. Although women are seen as objects to Alex they are also seen by other males in the film as controlled objects especially the husband in this scene, who gives orders to the wife such as "you had better let him in then", once again reinforcing the fact that women are controlled and passive in the film.
Using Laura Mulveys theory of visual pleasure we can also see in this scene that the wife is there for not only the pleasure of the males within the film but also the pleasure of the spectator/audience as well. This is proved by the hallway scene in which the wife has been told to open the door, behind her there is a wall full of tall mirrors this is so the audience have no choice but to gaze upon her at every angle. As well as the mirrors, the wife is gradually stripped naked by Alex using the scissor, once again for the pleasure of the males within the film and in the audience.
