In La Haine the media have a big influence on the movie because they are able to represent the trio in the film in anyway they want and the way the media do is in a bad way. Kassovitz does this on purpose to show the way the non-French are actually represented in the media. Kassovitz does this by using great shots one of them when the camera is filming Vinz when he is being aggressive and throwing stones at the news crew. Kassovitz could of shown us a shot of the trio just sitting there doing nothing but instead he purposely shows this shot to show us the audience how the French media mediate everything the way they want it too be mediated and the way they want it too be mediated is too show Vinz as a threat. A POV shot from the same scene is great because it is from Vinz because he is looking up at the news crew but while he does there is a massive wall and railing in the way this makes it look like the trio are in a zoo and the park they are in is their cage. This is emphasised by Hubert when he tells the media crew to get out like a rowdy pack of lions would roar at a person.

The trio here are sitting in a pit that resembles a bear pit in a zoo this means that the media in this scene see the trio as wild animals in a zoo this is because the big railings that are in the scene show them trapped in he park (zoo). The media roll up looking like they are there to aggravate the animals and mediate them to look wild and animalistic this is why the park that the trio are in resembles a zoo because this is how the media perceive them so this is how they are represented.

The trio in this scene are shot at a low angle this shows that the trio are comfortable where they are because it is natural to them and that they themselves are in control of what they want to do here because this is there area so they dow what they want and if that is being aggressive to the media then then that is what they will do. The main reason they act like this to the media is because the media does not represent the real life of the trio so the trio reject the media and do what they want to the media because they believe they have the right to treat them how they want so they can treat the media how they want to treat them.

When the trio are sitting down in a park they are sitting in a line from lightest to darkest this superb shot shows the trio in how they are represented by the inner city people in terms of how dis-respected they are by the French. This shot shows it perfectly because it shows Vinz as so close to being Frecnh yet so far, Said as being in the middle basically having no chance of ever becoming French and Hubert as being a complete and utter outcast that is basically not even cared about the French in any way at all.
