A Clockwork Orange - Alignment (Unfinished)

In the opening scene of A Clockwork Orange we are presented with overwhelming and disorientating red and blue screens accompanied by futuristic, synthetic music before it cuts to an extreme close-up of our main character who introduces himself as "Alex". Immediately, we are encouraged to align with Alex as he looks directly at us, individually.
The disorientation of the opening along with the confusing dialect that Alex speaks leaves us confused and lost in this unfamiliar surrounding, so ultimately we have no other option but to trust Alex as our guide because he is our only way of understanding the world.
Alex introduces himself by saying "There was me, that was Alex and my three Droogs" which identifies himself as the most important and separates him from the others, who are looking away whilst Alex is focused on us, this reinforces our alignment with him as we are denied any other alternative point of view. The fact that Alex is the only one with his feet up on the table, and the only one looking at us also highlights the power he has, not only in the setting, but over the other three characters
