Clockwork orange begins with a series of red and blue screens; it automatically aligns us with Alex. The camera starts of with a medium close up of Alex staring directly into the camera, the director has done this so you are drawn to Alex as the leader, the main character and a guide into this world that we are unfamiliar with. He is the only view into this world that we are given and without him we would become isolated and disorientated so we put our faith into something unknown in Alex. The world we see is new and somewhat frightening so when we here Alex narrating, we are le to believe his views on the world are correct, so when we see him committing violent acts, it is desensitised and we believe he isnt doing as bad as he seems to be doing
