Film Review
A knights tale; the film is seen to attract its views through the use of deceased actor, having starring roles in films such as batman Heath Ledger has became a recognised face on your TV screen. Unlike his other films such as Batman where he plays the crazy villain, he is the star or 'hero' in this film. The plot of the film is quite predictable in the sense its an underdog story - the protagonist has nothing and wants to rise towards fame and stardom, giving the film the predictable plot line and ending that he will succeed in his rise to success over coming many obstacles throughout the story; in this case his background and other characters - count "Adamar", being so you can say this film has a strong relationship with many of the hit success films today. A knights tale explores in time, using actors from the modern day and songs such as 'we will rock you' lets the audience know it wont be some serious boring medieval film and will be much more then that, the choice of the song gives the impression that it will be up to date with modern society in humour and other senses. The film is classed as a 'medieval adventure comedy-drama' even the choice of actors allows you to see that it will be a comedy; the physical appearance of one of the 'peasants' played by actor "Mark Addy" (A Reasonably large man) gives you the sense that it wont be a serious boring film and more comedic than serious. Avoiding spoilers; the film revolves around a peasant boy who requires nobility to compete and become a night, through out the film he is accompanied by two friends he grew up with, a calm reasonable man played by 'Mark Addy' and a 'hot-headed' ginger "Alan Tudyk." Polar opposites of each other you're given the impression that one will balance each other out throughout the film as a whole. The film uses a range of shot types mainly noticeable when its close ups that are constantly shot-reverse shot between the main character "William" (Heath Ledger) and his love "Jocelyn" (Shannyn Sossamon).
