A Clock Work Orange
A clockwork orange is broken up into two distinct halves, the first being when alex is free to commit rape and murder, the second is after his arrest and the punishment inflicted on him. As a result of our alignment with Alex Kubrick punishes us along with him in the second half of the film, after his interrogation he is sent to 'The lodavico medial facility' where we watch Alex's 'treatment'. Kubrick's previous techniques to help our alignment with Alex in the first half of the film such as the camera always being far away from the victims and all of his acts being justified by him we are now exposed to Alex's pain which is a juxtaposition. An example is when Kubrick uses a Close up of Alex's face as he is sat in what he calls "the chair of torture",
