This video
features screen writer Max landis. In this he discusses the problem of
whitewashing in the upcoming film ghost in shell , in the film Scarlett
Johannsson is cast as a Japanese character. He suggests that Hollywood isn't
broken and that it is just scared to risk films. Films with such unusual
concepts need a big name to help sell the film e.g. Scarlett Johannsson. Landis
says "There are 10 to 15 men who get films made and out of them only two
of them are black and the rest of them are white." In my opinion this is a
problem because there should be more racial diversity in Hollywood. This inks
with a later quote where he says "there are no a-list Asian actors right
now" this shows that there is a racial imbalance.
