In this article it discusses Cameron Crowe's apology for the casting of Emma Stone as a non-white character in film aloha. Crowe says "I offer you a heartfelt apology to all who felt this was an odd or misguided casting choice". This is the right decision by Crowe because he apologised for his mistake. This is a harsh contrast to Ridley Scott who just skirted around the issue. Despite the casting, Crowe spent a lot of time in Hawaii gaining the trust of the natives and employed a lot of local people behind the camera and on-screen. for example Dennis “Bumpy” Kanahele, and his village who help the crew of the film as well as to ensure the authenticity of the script.
