In this article it discusses the problem of whitewashing in the film Aloha, it also contains a statement from MANAA (Media Action Network for Asian Americans).  An example of a quote is that 'Caucasians only make up 30% of the population of Hawaii, but from watching this film, you’d think they made up 99%,". This problem because it shows that Aloha don’t accurately represent the diverse population of Hawaii. This is not the only film to use Hawaii exotic backdrop for example ' The Descendants, 50 First Dates, Blue Crush, Pearl Harbor'. This show the trend but a lest  Aloha use the people of Hawaii as well as the Heritage in film .this can be see in the troubled post-production, with rumoured reshoots and heavy editing required but this is just a rumour.
