What role do the media play in La Haine?

Kassovitz represents the media in La Haine as in favour of 'real' French ideologies, this is evident from the media sequence in the film. The scene begins with the trio sitting in the park having a casual conversation, a transition then occurs which is in the form of a white flash, this connotes the passage of time, but could also connote a voyeuristic nature as the white flash could symbolise an almost paparazzi type camera flash. This is when in the back ground of the low angle shot of the trio being comfortable in their environment the news van drives past, then reverses, almost looking for victims to demonise. The trio then begin to be asked a series of questions but retaliate in a negative manor as they are   basically being patronised in their own environment. A high angle shot of Vinz is shown through the perspective of the news vans camera lens, this promotes the ideology that the news are only there to highlight the negativity of the youth of the projects through the use of mediation, as they do not film the trio when they are calm
