How important are Film stars to Audience and producers

Importance of Film Stars

 

Film stars are very important to both producers and audiences and first we will start with producers one reason that Film Stars are important to producers is because if they are a very big film star they have the ability to rake in a lot more money than the film would of originally made and this is one of the reasons that film producers rely so much on film stars because film stars have the capability of saving a film, making the film a massive hit or if the film star is notorious and is not like could actually break a film either way in most cases they add money to the film and can help make it.

 

Film stars are always very important to the producers and audiences because htis helps the audience recognise what type of genre the film will be so people are going to instantly think that the film will be good as they trust the actor playing the main role in the movie so the audience then gain trust in the film and want to go and see as that is what they see the film stars as trustworthy and role models.

 

One film star that I can use for an example is Bruce Willis now Bruce Willis in his hay day was an actor that everyone loved and trusted so everytime he released a film everyone went to see. A firm example of this has got to be Die Hard 2 die harder this film was not as good as the first one in the franchise but most people went to see it anyway because of Bruce Willis most of the audience that saw it had saw the first one and knew just how good Bruce Willis so a lot of people went to the cinema and saw it and ultimately Die Hard 2 earned just over 100 million dolars more than the first one with a raking in of 239 million dollars. Now we skip ahead to the 2013 Die Hard A good day to die hard this movie got slated to pieces by critics and fans a like but this still earned 304 million dollars meaing it made a profit but also this was the third highest grossing Die Hard film made this shows how many people went to see the film just because Bruce Willis was in it. One example of a franchise that got rid of their main actor is Speed the first one made a lot of money and the audinece fell in love with Keanu Reeves but Speed 2 did not include Keanu Reeves so even though it was a terrible movie and flopped ultimately if the producers made Keanu Reeves the main actor in the film they would of made a lot more money.
