Representation of Men

In Get Cater men are represented in the same kind of way. They are seen as sleazy as most of the men work around the adult film industry and even watch it, like at the beginning of the film. They’re vulgar which you can see at the end where Carter strips the woman and then injects her with heroin, his indifference after it show his cold-bloodedness.

The men in Get Carter seem to be the gamblers, as at the horse race and poker game it was mainly man dominates. The men have the active roles, as they are the ones that carry and change the story lines. At the beginning you can see that the men are possessive as one places his hand on a woman’s leg.

Representation of women

Women are seen as very passive characters in Get Carter as they are only there for filler. They’re objectified as after every woman that sleeps with Carter are never seen again for the rest of the film. The women get very emotional in Get Carter.
