Driving Sequence -
The continued use of eye contact and extreme close ups of Alex make the spectator align more with him as they don't see the victim's POV. The spectator only sees through Alex, so they experience the world through him which enables them to understand it. When Alex is compared to the other Droogs, who are simple, chaotic and uncontrolled, he is the obvious leader as he comes across as collected and calm. The POVs from Alex are framed to be from his perspective, slightly framed to his position as the driver. This shows that he is always in control, even when he is not present on the screen. Alex's narration also explains the world and the Droog's motivations, further singling him out as leader.
Rape Scene -
This scene continues the separation of Alex and the violence through the masks and uniform of the Droogs. Alex is shot with a lack of CU's, instead shot with mostly wide shots. Alex also wears a make that shields his identity, dissociating Alex with the violence.
