Billy Boy and four Droogs - rape scene
This scene begins with the camera focusing on a painted ceiling of flowers with orchestra music playing in the background in a theatre - this gives the audience the impression that they may be expecting something bad because they like Alex are beginning to familiarise this music with trouble. The camera tracks down whilst zooming out so the whole stage is in sight. There five men are dragging a girl around the stage about to rape her - it is presented as though it is some sort of event because of the chosen scenery and the music. The audience are then narrated by Alex when he introduces the men who are trying to rape the girl which Alex describes as 'in out in out' and as a 'performance' which dims down the disgusting act so that the audience begin to understand the logic behind Alex's thoughts. The camera zooms in closer to the rape act whilst the music is continuing to play increasing intensity for the audience as they feel they are forced to watch this.
Car scene
In this scene we are again narrated by Alex who is again describing his actions as a 'horror show' and using unfamiliar childish language such as 'gutty wuts' and refers to the audience as 'my brothers' influencing the audience to remember they are on his side. The camera then cuts from a wide shot of the four boys in the car to the POV of alex driving manically forcing other cars to crash and drive off road. The camera cuts back and fourth to close ups of the boys faces to show their excitement and then back to the POV of Alex so we are reminded we are following the story through him. There is then a close up of Alex's face when he is driving the car - we can only see his made up side of his face as the other side is shaded and dark.
