Boogie nights
Boogie nights starts with the three characters, Dirk Diggler, Todd and Reed arriving in a bright red car. This suggest that the owner of the car is dangerous as in the scene he already has a gun in his jacket. later on, when they walked towards the drug dealer's house, there are lights with the colour of red and blue which signifies a crime scene in the upcoming scene of one of them in the house being killed. When the Dirk and his crew enters the house, the camera tracks the door being slowly closed. This means that they're trapped inside the house but also with the camera tracking at the door, it creates a small space atmosphere. No where to run for Dirk's crew. They're imprisoned inside the drug dealer's house. Furthermore, as soon as Dirk's crew enters the house, the music begins to play along with the firecracker blowing up. Also the firecracker plays an important part in this scene because since we know that Todd has a gun in his jacket but also drug dealer 1 and 2 as well so both audience and the characters won't know whether if it's the firecrackers or actual gun shots from one of those with a gun. Drug deal is definitely a dangerous and unexpected person because he simply doesn't care the way he is dressed in front of his guest but also he tried to play Russian roulette with himself. As i've mentioned before, the firecracker plays a role in this, while he was point a gun towards his chin. A firecracker blows up and it creates tension for the audience and Dirk's crew because they might think it was the gun therefore the sound of the firecracker creates a unsettling and uncomfortable feeling for us. Clearly, when the song ends, another song will obviously play which might change the mood for the drug dealer. Depending on what song will play next, it might make him even more dangerous than before.
