- Whilst filming for "The Birds", Hedren was promised the birds used in the attic were mechanical but as she arrived on set, she discovered there was no intention to use mechanical birds and they were always going to be live birds that would relentlessly attack her.
“When I got to the set I found out there had never been any intention to use mechanical birds because a cage had been built around the door where I was supposed to come in, and there were boxes of ravens, gulls and pigeons that bird trainers wearing gauntlets up to their shoulders hurled at me, one after the other, for a week."
- Hedren was placed under a contract by Hitchcock and would not let her out of it despite how hard she tried. She received awards and nominations but was unable to attend any events due to Hitchcock. Directors that wanted her to star in their films were turned away by Hitchcock as he claimed she was "unavailable."
- Grace Kelly made three films with Hitchcock. They were 'Dial M for Murder', 'Rear Window' and 'To Catch a Thief'.
